Design & prototyping
3D design and prototyping
Most things start as a thought, not a CAD file. Tell us what you want to achieve and we’ll help turn it into something that can be made.
Bring us your starting point.
Send us a sketch, a photograph or details of a part you want to replace or adapt. We can help turn those references into a design for printing.
- An idea or rough concept
- A drawing and some measurements
- A part to recreate or adapt
- A prototype to test and improve
The BlockE approach
Designing around the fit
Include measurements and photographs of any parts your design needs to fit. We can agree a prototype stage before making the final version.
Bring us your brief ↗Practical by design
Test the design before committing to a batch
We start with the job the object needs to do. Then we consider shape, fit, material and how to manufacture it. For prototypes, a first version can help reveal what needs changing.
We agree the design scope and any iterations with you before starting. If something isn’t a good fit for 3D printing, we’ll say so.
